Begliktash or Beglik Tash is an ancient Thracian sanctuary and observatory. Near the ruins of an ancient city Ranuli on the ridge of cape Maslen, about 210 meters above sea level and 3 km. of Primorsko is situated the sanctuary city Ranuli - circle of huge stones placed on the surface out of nowhere in the middle of a green meadow. The ancients worshiped the area, offering gifts and make it a kind of a temple. Scientists sanctuary perform the following functions:
- Temple - a very well preserved carved into the rock altar, consisting of two tanks with grooves connecting them, the main altar (huge stone resting on three points, and stone throne on which sat the ruler or chief priest. In the altar were found only vegetables that stirs the thought that the victims sacrificed were only plants - grapes, figs, olives and more.
- Calendar - on the rock surface has carved a hole at the moment of the solstice and equinox stones arranged between the sun's rays.
- Clock - the arrangement of stones is such that the solar shadow falling from the main altar (specifically large curved stone) arranged on the north of it 6 smaller stones.
According to archeological sites discovered so far it is considered that the sanctuary was built in the 14th century BC, it operates up to 5 century AD
Legend has it that Ulysses passed through the sanctuary to consult the prophet, and offer gifts to the gods before heading to his mythical journey.
